| July 2, 1969. In Pan claimed justice for his son, who was punished solely because he caused trouble with Uthai, the police who had influence in the village. He often exploited his authority to threaten the others. In Pan's son and his friends were all captured, but his friends had been bailed out because they agreed to pay a bribe to police of 3000 baht each. But In Pan's son had not been bailed out because Uthai wanted to ‘haze’ him. This case became a fight to ‘save face’ because if two youngsters who were friends of the In Pan's son were arrested, Uthai would lose face. Kickert's Ahka buffalo case.

| January 20, 1969. Bob told Moerman that Athu, the son of an Akha shaman, and his friends sold buffalo to Nai Mun at Ban Hinthaek. When they arrived at Nai Mun's home, they were allowed to smoke opium. However, Nai Mun called the police to arrest them and took all buffalo. Athu and the friends reported this to the police at the police station in Chiang Rai province, but the police refused to make a note in the log. So they asked for help from Bob. | February 13, 1969. Penthip sat out the bench for a case on burglary and murder. Two suspects robbed a grocery store and killed one person. The accused confessed and was jailed during the trial. The plaintiff testified that he did not clearly see the accused, because he saw it from a side view and saw it for only a moment. | June 4, 1969. The police arrested a Chinese man because he possessed heroin. During the trial, an interpreter was required because the accused did not understand Thai. The police examined the Chinese man’s shop, where they had found the heroin. The police informed him that to cease the case he needed to pay 5,000 baht.
