Grant from the U.S.

| January 22, 1960. In the opinion of Chaweng, the U.S. grants to Thailand and Laos did not fall into the hands of the general public. Most of the funds ended up being misappropriated by senior officials and American capitalists. The U.S. should provide financial support for good governance and should allocate the funds to the people, not for that liable to corruption. | Punch card

| November 12, 1960. The sub-district headman told the villagers his concerns about the political policies of President Kennedy towards communism, and whether the policies were similar to the anti-communist period, as that of President Nixon. The conflict that occurred between Russia and China was a good thing for Thailand. In his opinion, China was a communist country that hoped to occupy the world. Kennedy was the 35th president of the US. and served as president during the years 1961-1963. Nixon who was the 37th president of the US. served as during the years of 1969 to1974 – Translator]. | Punch card

american aid.

| February 7, 1960. Kamnan [sub-district headman – translator] commented that the U.S. grants allocated to Laos were futile, because the only people who received benefits were rich people. If America did not provide more financial support, Thailand would become a communist country. January 12, 1961.
