1958-1961. The first field work trip of Moerman in Thailand. He spent almost 3 years to collected field data about the Lue society, tradition, culture, and daily life of Tai Lue community at Ban Phaed, Payao province. 3295 records of slide, photograph, punch card, letter, notebook, typescript, and map.

Khanet goes to jail to meet a client.

| April 1, 1969. Moerman accompanied Khanet to meet his client at the prison. He was arrested on the charge of assault. Moerman monitored the mannerisms and inquiries of Khanet and took notes. Khanet's client claimed that he was not at the scene of the incident. However Khanet believed that his client was not being forthright with all od the details. | Punch card

Clients come to Sithon's office.

| February 20, 1969. A client of Sithon had signed a contract to lease land to Khamsing for 3 years, but he wanted the land back. He could not terminate the contract, and was required to pay damages to the amount of 700 baht to Khamsing. However, he did not have as much money as was needed, and he went to Sithon to seek advice. | Punch card

Lawyers Sutham.

| March 13, 1969. A woman came to the Sutham law firm to consult on the issue of her husband, who had a minor wife. He was refusing to pay the living allowance for herse and her children. She wanted Sutham to contact her husband, who she felt was responsible for providing an allowance for child rearing and for herself. If he did not agree to this, she would submit to file it in court. | Punch card

Cases in Pradit's office : a minor's land as collateral for a loan.

| March 29, 1969. Pradit held a draft loan agreement to guarantee land. A problem occurred because the borrower had not repayed the loan and was deceased. The creditor wanted to seize land as collateral, but his brother had ineherited the land. However, as he was still a minor, he could be signatory to a contract. A cadaster official encouraged the boy's mother to sell their land to him, instead of allowing the creditor to settle the debt. Pradit needed to clear up the case. | Punch card

| March 12, 1969. At the law firm of Sutham clients came to consult about a variety of cases. In the first example, a man had run a rice mill business without a license from the district administration; as a result he was charged a fine of 2,500 baht. However according to the law, the state could only charge a penalty to the sum of 300 baht. So he came to consult with Sutham to find a solution. Second, a young woman came to consult Sutham about a case of receiving compensation for her land, which had been taken for the site of a dam construction. | Punch card

| March 13, 1969. At the law firm of Chajcha:n a client signed a contract to deliver timber from Phrae to a furnishings shop in Bangkok. However, he could not deliver that amount of wood. Also his subordinates secretly asked disbursement in advance from the shop. Chajcha:n needed to travel to Bangkok with the client to negotiate an to settle agreement. | Punch card

| June 12, 1969. Most people thought that prison was bad, no one saw that the prison improved the persons detained. Moerman asked about the release steps of prisoners. Bodin interviews warden of Chiengmai prison.

| June 13, 1969. A prison administrator told Bodin about a case of heroin smuggling into the prison. The prisoners had been taken to the police and the prison had set up a committee to investigate the incident. The prison administrator suspected that there may have been some prison administrators involved in the event. Bodin then asked the prison administrator for his comments regarding prisoner supervision and the return of prisoners to a normal life in society, after being released. | Punch card
