1958-1961. The first field work trip of Moerman in Thailand. He spent almost 3 years to collected field data about the Lue society, tradition, culture, and daily life of Tai Lue community at Ban Phaed, Payao province. 3295 records of slide, photograph, punch card, letter, notebook, typescript, and map.

Theft of U.S. property.

| January 23, 1969. An abandoned office, which was the property of the U.S. government, was trespassed. Joe O'Neill, a U.S. government consultant, consulted Moerman about the litigation because he was afraid of the potential effect on international relations between Thailand and the U.S. He sent Captain Cooney to represent the government in litigation. There were three suspects, and two were minors. The sentence was suspended and they had to pay fines. Captain Cooney told Moerman that in Korat many Americans were imprisoned and could not bear to spend their life in prison. In addition, in the course of the investigation Thai police were violent towards the accused. | Punch card

| March 24, 1969. A woman came to consult Prawin about divorce and claims for support for child rearing from her husband. However, Prawin did not the want to take a chance on how the case would be filed in the court. In addition, in Thai law, the father would gain the authority for child care. | Punch card

| December 19, 1968. Moerman attended the investigation of the heroin case. The police officer who was handling this case was called first to testify. He explained to the judge his involvement with this case, and he could skillfully answer the questions. Another witness, who was the daughter of the defendant, had no previous knowledge that her father sold heroin. | Punch card
