1958-1961. The first field work trip of Moerman in Thailand. He spent almost 3 years to collected field data about the Lue society, tradition, culture, and daily life of Tai Lue community at Ban Phaed, Payao province. 3295 records of slide, photograph, punch card, letter, notebook, typescript, and map.

| Chinese (Ho) shopkeeper would build a new house. Young men in the village came to move the house posts, and the construction would start after harvest season. Some villagers were employed for each step of the house building. | Punch card

| Nan On decided to move to settle in the village of Ban Phead and some villagers came to assist with the construction. The information covers housewarming, which consisted of offerings in rituals upon the beliefs, and traditions of Muang and Lue singing for enjoyment. | Punch card

| Thamcai had books on medicine and auspicious days according to Lue tradition. For instance, an auspicious position for a house door, tasks to accomplish for propitiousness, the origin of a statue of a woman beckoning, ladder building, and meaning of Kwan post and Nang post. | Punch card
