The Aliya Metai is the next incarnation of Buddha, referred to as Phra Jehova by the Christians. People who make donations and merit will be born at the same time as the Aliya Metai comes. Those who make a lot of merit will be reborn in heaven. If one has killed oxen and buffalo, one will reborn immediately on this earth. What we kill in this life will kill us in the next.

Economics : old days.

24 June 1965 – The price of kerosene and salt. Three months after harvesting, people purchase salt in Uttaradit. 29 June 1965 - Moerman goes to Phrae for 25 days with a pack of oxen. In the old days, rice was given to distill liquor for weddings, house warming parties, etc.

Earming.

24-25 June 1965 - If the ground is very hard a double plow is needed. This strategy kills the grass, while moistening and softening the soil. Nonetheless, those who double plow frequently find that their soil is hard. Every year farmers wait for the rain to water the Ban fields but now they want to run off to Thunglaw because they are afraid it will be too late there. Many farmers use fertilizer when the seedlings do not germinate well.

Varities of people.

24 June 1965 - In Mae Long villagers wear Lue sin (sarongs). Sai identifies membership of the Yao people by short, black hair and a stone necklace. Soldiers distribute radios to the Yao. The Chinese are everywhere, and act as businessmen, to the envy of the villagers.

Marriage.
