Scope and content :
This series consist of 48 sound recordings (38 hour 40 minute). These records are sound of interviewing 47 people in northeastern Thailand; Mahasarakham, Loei, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Phanom, Sakhon Nakhon, Srisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani, from 1979 to 1983. The methodological approach he used to gather data is called "oral history". Chatthip travelled to numerous villages, seeking out knowledgeable village elders for their perspectives on past and present. It interview are the story of habitation, social life, occupation, belief etc. Chatthip used these data to be a source of his book "The Thai Village Economy in the Past".
