1962-1966. This series consist of 187 records of punch card, letter, and postcard. These materials are from the second field work trip of Moerman in Thailand. He revisited Ban Phaed, Payao province to collect additional field data.

| 24 June 1965 - In Mae Long villagers wear Lue sin (sarongs). Sai identifies membership of the Yao people by short, black hair and a stone necklace. Soldiers distribute radios to the Yao. The Chinese are everywhere, and act as businessmen, to the envy of the villagers. | Punch card

| 24 June1965 - It would be good if there was a decent road to Phayao. Roads are good for merchants and officials, making it easier to travel, but there are few perceived benefits for ordinary people. | Punch card

Headman.

| 24 June 1965 – The headman gets a salary of Bt75 per month, but there are frequent deductions, for example hosting parties for soldiers returning from battle, and paying for glasses and plates smashed at the party. All troubles are the headman’s responsibility. If the headman collects money from the villagers, they may think he is being a spendthrift. | Punch card

| 25 June 1965 – Wood is no longer brought to Fai Long (dam), but instead stone is brought and forced into wooden containers. The sheriff collects lots of money and has made a cement dam above Fai Khwang, which is devoid of water. The water flows instead by the useless cement dam which the sheriff built to give water to the market gardens. The Thunglaw farmers collect money and send representatives to complain about the dam | Punch card

Farming.

| 25 June 1965 - If the ground is very hard a double plow is needed. This strategy kills the grass, while moistening and softening the soil. Nonetheless, those who double plow frequently find that their soil is hard. Every year farmers wait for the rain to water the Ban fields but now they want to run off to Thunglaw because they are afraid it will be too late there. Many farmers use fertilizer when the seedlings do not germinate well. | Punch card
