In addition to the ancestral spirits, spirits of relatives and family followers are also worshipped within the spirit hierarchy. At the apex of the hierarchy sits Chao Pu Luang, followed by Chao Phuttawong, Chao Horchan, Chao Saen Prahan, Chao Madai, Chao Ma Khieow and others. The site of the ritual switches between the ancestral spirit house and a pavilion. Participants enter the spirit house to consult the spirits about their problems.
