Scope and content : 1972 – Differences of ecology, language and culture between upland and lowland villages lead to both alliances and hostilities. Relationships take the form of those between employer and laborer, or are evinced during commerce and trading. Some of these relationships are particularly intense. Moreover, a number of upland villagers have moved to lowland areas, while a few Thai Christians have moved to live in upland villages.
