Scope and content : 14-16 March 1987 - Votive ritual to ancestral spirits (Phee Meng) Pictured is the ritual chief. As this family has not performed a ritual for a long time, they have had to hire a chief from another family. Dried fish is used as an offering. On the first day, the pavilion needs to be built before breakfast. The ritual chief, alongside anyone needing to perform a votive ritual and elderly members of the family, invites the ancestral spirits from the ancestral spirit house into the pavilion in order that they might receive the offerings and participate in the ritual.
