Scope and content : February 6, 1960. During the preparations on the day of the house warming for Moerman’s new home, Saeng quarreled severely with the village headman. He grabbed a sword to attack the headman, and villagers gathered to stop him. Feb 9, 1960. Saeng must ask for pardon from the headman by offering two bottles of village rice wine and another 10 baht. During the feast the headman was drunk and insulted Saeng. But he was restrained and did not fight back. In fact, the headman was jealous of Saeng, who represented the mill and he provided all the rice to sell in town
