Scope and content : February 13, 1960. There was an assault incident and attempt to rape a girl. One of the suspects was a boy from Ban Phaed. According to investigation of a headman, the victim was invited to identify the young man as perpetrator. However, the girl testified quite indistinctly about the place and time of the incident. The young man who was identified denied the allegations and claimed that he had witnesses who could attest to his innocence. The headman could conduct only a preliminary investigation and took notes for reporting the incident to the district, and finally, after negotiations between the injured girl and the family of the young man, acknowledged the suspect. She received a compensation of 200 U.S. and the man promise to not to come to Ban Phaed anymore until everything was no longer being spoken about in the town.
