Scope and content : 1987 – The sao sakang is the post of the village spirit (and, incidentally, the inspiration behind the city pillar in Chiang Mai). In the past this post was used for ritual slaughter. Such posts much be located in appropriate positions, and many villages site them at the village entrance.
