Meeting for primary demonstration of community development

Scope and content : November 20, 1960. District staff, teachers, sub-district heads, village headman and village attended this meeting. The main topic of the meeting was regarding the role and importance of community leaders in the maintainance and development of their locality. The leaders of each community should serve as a coordination point for people with the authorities. Then, members were divided into small groups to discuss issues such as the characteristics of good local leaders, guidelines for developing agricultural and industrial communities, etc. November 21, 1960. The school principal commented to Moerman that the demonstration was useless, because people in this district lacked knowledge. Although the meeting raised different opinions and ideas, they would never be implemented. This meeting was held only because it was a direct command from the provincial authorities.
