| February 26, 1961. The householder invited authorities to conduct an exorcism ritual for the pillar of a haunted house. It was a commonly held belief that the authorities were representatives of the king and they thus held the rights to perform exorcisms. Opinions of villagers on the headman

| January 9, 1960. While waiting at the mill in the Chiang Kham district, Saeng told Moerman that the headman could not trade at this mill, because the owner did not trust him. The headman often had problems with money, as a result the villagers did not trust him. If anyone did something wrong, it became the ‘talk of the town’ in the village market. | Punch card

Border Patrol Police

| March 16, 1960. Moerman talked with the border patrol police officer at a drinking party. The talk was mainly concerned with the border patrol police officer, such as his capabilities, sexual experiences with women from diverse races and etc. Moerman observed that everyone at the party was humble and keen to listen to what the officer had to say. | Punch card

Inter-ethnic relations between the villagers and the Yao and Khmu people

| March 30 and June 7, 1960. The villagers used to trade with the Yao and Khmu people. They told Moerman stories which were associated with these groups. | Punch card

Leaving the monkhood

| 1960. The abbot called the villagers for a meeting in the middle of the night. Tu Chao (abbot - translator) told the villagers he was to leave the monkhood. However the villagers asked him to delay the decision until the building of the sanctuary would be complete. | Punch card

ฺBrawl

| March 31, 1961. There was a brawl between the villagers of Ban Phaed and those of Ban Nong and Ban Van. The victims asked for a feast for forgiveness, but Suk (one of the causes?) refused. Many villagers helped settle the conflict, because they did not want get into trouble with the police. If so, the two parties would pay a fine and could have a record. (some cards were missing.
